DISCOVERIES
Every now and then, a discovery is made at the loading bench or on the shooting range that makes me wonder why -- now in my 70s -- I hadn't realized that before. Sometimes these discoveries don't have anything to do with shooting. Here's one of them:
For decades, I have been choosing what I thought was the most popular brand of saltine crackers. But then one day, when I needed to replenish the supply for home, I saw that a sale on the popular brand had emptied the shelve at the local super market. It was going to be soup tonight, so I reluctantly picked up a box of Zesta Original saltine crackers by Keebler. What could the elf possibly know about saltines? Well, I'm on my second box of Zesta Originals now and, in my usually not-so-humble opinion, they kick butt on the other brand.
The point is, I'm always willing to learn. I wish somebody would have told me about this years ago, and I wouldn't have had to wait so long to discover it by myself, but at least now I know.
The purpose of this website isn't to tell readers about better crackers, but it is to hopefully pass along experiences related to shooting rifles; experiences that can assist others in cutting through some of the crap that's printed in various magazines and on other websites. Sometimes the best way to do this is for readers to ask specific questions. When answering them, we'll learn about what's important to you, and you'll get a better idea of who we are. Don't be bashful; no question is dumb, and we'll do our level best to assist you. Just one thing; we're almost exclusively about conventional center-fire bolt action rifles and the cartridges for them. It's unlikely that we'd be much help in any other area. Except crackers.
